I'm a heavy user of Shalin's product DoAttend. I've tried competing products and Shalin's attention to detail shows plainly in his product.

Unlike the competition, DoAttend just works. Neither my customers nor my staff have any trouble finding their way around the product. It's remarkable that Shalin managed to get this right many years ago while his competitors fumble around with basic usability.

I have known Shalin from the early days of DoAttend(TenMiles) and I have been in touch with him since then. Shalin completely believes in "Walk the talk" concept. I would like to point out that he is not only passionate about user experience, but about creating real world class products rooted in technology. I have always admired his clarity and his dream to build some awesome line of products at TenMiles. I have known Shalin for the last 10 years. I always turn to him when I want to know about the startup eco-system in India. I have also used mobile and web apps created by Shalin and his teams and I am always impressed by the thought that goes into designing these.

I first met Shalin when I interviewed him as a part of 'Business Bytes', a podcast show on entrepreneurs almost 6 years ago. Subsequently, I interviewed him for the Hindu newspaper and we've also been a part of the same non-profit Proto.in.

Through all this, Shalin has come across as an extremely dedicated, intelligent and resourceful entrepreneur with an ability and inclination to think big, a trait often not found in entrepreneurs from Chennai. He also has more in-depth knowledge on the web industry and SaaS than many others within the industry, and unlike a number of entrepreneurs in the sector, he has a rare combination of execution and intellect. I wish him the best and I see Ten Miles scaling great heights in the future.

Shalin is a fantastic leader, with a neat mix of design aesthetics, usability and business sense, in his approach to software development and design. I learnt tons in my interactions with him. My sense of design and user interaction became much sharper, after my work in Tenmiles, apart from the boost to my programming skills, and I'm so thankful for the experience.

He is a visionary to have shaped Tenmiles into a quality product shop in the midst of a service-oriented economy and nascent startup environment in India. To his employees, he is not just a boss. He is a mentor and an inspiration. He makes you question your own limits and brings out the best in you, and gives you space to innovate at your job. With high quality products in its portfolio, very happy customers, and Shalin at the helm, it's not a question of "whether" Tenmiles makes it big, its only a question of "when".
