Testing the usability of your website, application, or product is a specialized area of expertise. It is not just simply asking your friend to "take a look at it, and let me know if you had any problems". Usability testing needs to be conducted with the right participants with the right questionnaire with well-defined probes, by suitably qualified researchers. Only such a study is likely to give you real insights into improving your design.
Approach to usability testing varies depending upon the phase of the design project. It can be qualitative study during the formative stages of the design, and a quantitative study during the summative phase of the design. Idetifying which research method suits the given design context is critical to the success of the design.
I can provide guidance on the design research methods that would best suit your context. I have experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative user research with hundreds of participants across the world either face-to-face in their own context of use, or testing remotely.
