What a pleasure to work with Sean! He is a gifted communicator, wise and clear. As a volunteer supervised by Sean, for several years I have enjoyed his direction and counsel. He knows when to be direct and how to instruct with respect and sensitivity. He has demonstrated a unique ability to work with all types of volunteers and how to make each and every one feel valued and appreciated. I would feel privileged to work in any capacity with Sean.
Sean is a delight to work with. When he was a monk at Abhayagiri Monastery I was a counselor with Spirit Rock for the Abhayagiri Teen Weekend. He was very kind and attentive to the teens. He helped them get settled in and managed much of the logistics for their visit and meals. He was very organized, helpful and good-natured when the kids asked him a million questions about his life as a monastic. He was highly organized, kind, clear, and effective--which he continues to be at his current position at Spirit Rock Meditation Center.
It is evident that Sean strives to bring his mindfulness practice to his work. It shows in the way he manages events and interacts with people through his work.
Sean brings deep and soulful presence to everything that he does. His Buddhist practice and experience of the dharma runs deep, which clearly enriches his work in profound ways on a daily basis. For these reasons, and because of the freshness, creativity, and clarity of vision with which he lives and works, I'm confident that Sean would be an invaluable and powerful member of any team he wanted to join.
I know Sean to be a man of integrity. He brings a sense of mission and heart into his work at Spirit Rock and in the prisons where I've worked with him leading mindfulness classes and workshops. Anyone who he works with will be well served by his experience, intelligence and presence.
In my retirement from my career, I spend a great deal of time volunteering. Spirit Rock is one of my favorite places to be, so volunteering there is a natural for me. Having been a manager myself, I really appreciate Sean's calm demeanor, and excellent management skills. It is not an easy task to coordinate the multitude of events that need to happen during a daylong event at Spirit Rock. Sean is always on top of whatever needs to be done. The daylongs go super smooth because of his abilities. I would recommend Sean for any work involving people, and coordinating events, he is excellent in this arena. Thank you Sean for making the volunteering at Spirit Rock a Spiritual experience.
Sean is an extraordinary human being and brings all of his resources to the work he does. He is hard working, passionate, caring, and clear seeing, and brings a a graceful precision to his. I highly recommend him.

I became closely acquanted with Sean during his residence at Abhayagiri. He was an ardent practicioner who was gracious enough to take the time to help me along with my studies and understanding. He was relied on by the Sangha for his abiliities to organize and coordinate activities. He demonstated a unique talent to bridge the world between the Sangha and the lay community.
Sean is a gifted, multi-faceted individual. In his capacity as Events Coordinator he is able to gracefully manage groups of hundreds of people, both coordinating and curating a seamless experience for attendees while directing groups of support staff and volunteers, and liaising with presenters.
His demeanor of calm professionalism makes what is, just below the surface, a high-pressure, intense and time-sensitive position appear effortless. He is a high value asset, both as a leader of teams and a team player. I'd be happy to speak further with anyone about my experience working with Sean.
I understand that Sean is a kind of permanent happiness seeker, seeking for his life destination. I am glad that he decided to ordain with our Dhammakay Temple and had practiced Dhammakay Meditation for a full year. He had learned a lot of Buddhism as well as Dhammakay Meditation Tradition. He like, I am sure, Buddhism that why he continue working in Meditation Service organizer after he disrobed. Even he disrobe, I still remember him as a good friend always.
