Founder of Startup Riot & Founder Fables. Previously invented IP location technology and co-founded Digital Envoy (8 issued U.S. Patents, $12m in funding raised). Angel investor (10+ tech startups). Advisor, SXSW Startup Accelerator.
In 1999/2000 I raised $1.5 million in angel funding and in 2001 I raised $10.5 million in venture capital for my startup (which was subsequently acquired in 2007). The road to raising venture funding took 10 months and over 200 pitches to VCs. In my current life doing Startup Riot, I talk to a lot of investors as well. I'm happy to talk about what it takes, in my opinion, to raise capital and what you need to do to be ready for the challenge.
Excellent attitude, and keen to help customers. Very technical and produced some terrific internal tools that are still in use 5 years afterwards. Always going that "extra mile".
Sanjay has it all . . . intelligence, drive, passion, committment, humor, wit, vision. He is an incredible leader and I look forward to watching his continued success. He is an obvious winner.
Sanjay's great to work with, easygoing, intelligent and creative. I couldn't recommend anyone above him as a technology visionary and practical leader.
It is seldom that an incredibly strong technologist also has the aptitude to approach solutions from a business opportunity stand point FIRST well in working with Sanjay, we have had the pleasure of working with a team where the vision is built upon business opportunities, with great (unique) technology that delivers on its promise!
Sanjay is a successful entrepreneur and a tireless champion of the startup community in Atlanta. He introduces people to ideas, co-founders, technology, investors and more.
He's also the force behind StartupRiot which is one of the best startup events in the United States.
Anyone starting a technology company anywhere near Atlanta should make it a point to attend the events Sanjay organizes, subscribe to his mailing lists and to meet the man in person.
