I implemented my first backward error propagation neural network when I was 16, that was two decades ago. I have a degree in Artificial Intelligence from Edinburgh University. I'm an advisor to companies like DataRobot, leaders in the field of Machine Learning. As CTO of OneSpot, I built a realtime bidding engine using machine learning that reliably outperformed Google AdWords in head-to-head comparisons.

Source: LinkedIn Jonathan Locke Apr 12, 2013Ian has been an inspired collaborator and serious influencer since we started our first company, Uprizer, seven years ago, all the way through our work together at Revver. His integrity, wisdom, vision and clear-mindedness about the 'way things work' have not only made him a trusted business partner, but a lifelong friend. It's a privilege to know him, and I give him my strongest recommendation.
Source: LinkedIn Steven Starr Apr 12, 2013Ian's technical and visionary brilliance has already been well documented for his numerous achievements, but what isn't as well known is just how down-to-earth and great to work with Ian really is. Not only was Ian was one of the first people I really felt comfortable working with at Revver, but he was also one of the first people I'd come to when I needed help troubleshooting a problem. Working with Ian was a great learning experience for me and I hope to have the chance to work together again some day soon.

He was able to bring together amazing talent from across the globe to implement it, and espouse its goals to both technology professionals and the enlightened public.
Source: LinkedIn Scott Miller Apr 12, 2013As a User Experience guy I am always interested in how to make technology work for us not against us. Ian's work on Freenet represents a major step change for freedom of information & a fresh look at how we transact & interact using distributed technologies.
Ian continues to challenge our preconceptions of how things "have to be" & long may that continue.
Source: LinkedIn Martin Dowson Apr 12, 2013Ian left the United Kingdom for the US, where Uprizer was founded around concepts from the Freenet Project. His deft guidance brought engineering talent together in the business world creating arguable the most practical system applying peer-to-peer technology to solving bandwidth problems in the Enterprise.
