I have had the very good fortune of knowing Ron for five years. As a 20-year veteran in the world of consumer research, I can honestly say that Ron is one of the best hires I have ever made. During his stint at Sports Illustrated Ron was our go to person on everything digital -- Web2.0, social networking, CGC, etc -- and his dedication, resourcefulness and insights truly stood out. He's the complete package -- smart, thoughtful, genuine, team player, highly motivated, creative and entrepreneurial. Clearly, I can't say enough wonderful things about Ron. He would be a great addition to any group or company.
I always said that I felt like I was working with a bunch of professionals at BetterWorks that were punching way above their weight class. Ron was one of those professionals. An exceptional and creative leader with the ability to grasp and execute on the big picture, I was fortunate to see Ron in action in our agile product development environment. Always detail oriented, I liked how Ron always made sure to keep the sales team up to speed on the next iterations of the product so we had time to modify our sales process. A true team player, I hope to have the opportunity to work with (or even FOR Ron when he starts his own company again) Ron again in the future.
I met Ron Yang while running similar hyperlocal eCommerce companies. Although we were competitors in a way, Ron provides high professionalism and is open to strategic partnerships to make others successful. He has great knowledge about the hyperlocal marketing space and provides great value to those in the internet realm. He also provides assistance and insight, trying to help others succeed. I have no doubt that Ron will become a successful entrepreneur and has a strong will to do well.
