I am a technology lawyer and a legal technologist.
Having received my M.B.A. and J.D. degrees from the Richard Ivey School of Business and the Western University Faculty of Law, respectively, I am the Founder and CEO of DealPrep. a simulation tool used by colleges, universities and innovation spaces for deal negotiation training. I am also the Founder of Clausehound.com, a legal document analysis technology solution provider. I received my legal training in the corporate law group at top-tier Canadian law firm Stikeman Elliott LLP, as well as internationally for the Technology Media and Telecom group in the Dubai office of Clyde & Co. I also have practiced a decade of small business and technology law at boutique technology law firm Cobalt Lawyers.
I spent the first 7 years of my career working in the technology industry, both as a software (database) developer and a technology manager at large organizations including Bell Mobility, a major telecommunications company, and at Guardian Capital, a financial services company. Prior to entering business and law school, I received an Honours Philosophy degree from the University of Waterloo, where I took a significant course load in Mathematics, Computer Science and Cognitive Science.
Last but not least, I am the Canadian Responsible Leaders Chapter Head for the BMW Foundation.
