I am having a serious conundrum and feel a little silly asking since I've been a social media manager for years now. I just started a new job and need to pimp out our YouTube channel. Thing is, now that Google+ syncs with YouTube, I can't seem to hook up the two accounts without totally losing access to my video or linking it to my personal Google+ account. I'm a complete loss and will seriously pay lots of money for someone to walk me through this. I've spent days Googling and testing to no avail. Anyone?
I've had this issue with a large number of channels and there's no simple fix. A lot of it depends on how you were accessing YouTube in the first place. If you were using your personal email, you're going to lose some customization, etc when you make the switch.
You may have to unlink before you can get it right. Here's a walk-through: http://www.seo-911.com/you-tube-channel-link-to-wrong-google-plus-business-listing/
Hard to know where you are in the process though without seeing the account.
Google + is such a clusterf*ck. It is buggy, glitchy, and all around worthless. Google thinks that if they force people to go along with it, it will become a phenomenal product.
That's not how life works.
In all sincerity, I'd suggest you just do the bare minimum because it is never going to catch on and Google is going to give up soon enough (like they do with EVERY social media system they try to shove down our throats every 2 years.)
Hello, I have over 400 videos uploaded to YouTube. I don't just talk about YouTube, I wrote the book on it. "YouTube Video Marketing Secrets Revealed: The Beginners Guide to Online Video Marketing." I actually had this challenge when my Google+ was first synced. I logged into my YouTube channel and all my videos were gone - or so I thought. Here are directions on how to sync your profiles.
1.Log into your Google+ account and then go to YouTube.com
2. Go to your YouTube Account
3. Select "Switch Accounts"
4. Select the channel you want to use and make the sync. http://www.youtube.com/channel_switcher?next=%2F
If the videos are on a separate channel already you will not be able to port them to the new channel. I would instead suggest adding a Manager to the account and you can do that at http://www.youtube.com/account
Please call me if you have follow up questions. Thank you.
