Good luck.
I've heard good things about Namecheap. I used both their domain services and their basic hosting packages and the service has always been good, and the prices are more than fair. Advice: take the 2 year package, not the 1 year, because when you have to renew, the price goes up a bit.
I've used 1-2 other good companies, but they were local (per my location), so I'm not sure how relevant they are to you because I don't know where you are located.
Good luck

Perfect support and easy to use
In recent times there are many VPS website hosting corporations accessible. I have personally reviewed some of the vendors and various facts are coming out after my basic review of their online presence, support, performance, and uptime.
I have stated the providers that are widely used less costly VPS web hosting plans is DigitalOcean(the 0. 33-biggest web hosting corporation within the world), that is quality VPS cloud hosting for person and business.
After saying new droplet plans with extra CPU's, reminiscence, and SSD storage, DigitalOcean made one greater circulate to get near their clients by using gifting away $a hundred unfastened credit score.
Description: They come with uncomplicated pricing that suits each person. The most inexpensive plan of 5$ comes with 1GB RAM, a virtual CPU. It also has rapid 20GB SSD storage with 1TB bandwidth. Their plans range from 5$ to eighty$ according to month. Rise up to 8GB ram with 4 virtual CPUs, 80GB blazing fast SSD garage, 5TB bandwidth. So, any type of premium web hosting you need, get it at the fine rate.

SEO effect of separate site in subfolder on a different server?
In general no effect... and... Be aware all content in subfolders + subhosts is now considered part of domain, so make sure you stick with some sort of common theme across all your content... to maximize your SEO. Also, there's no real way to do what you describe... short of using sshfs or something similar to mount your WordPress site into your EC2 instance, so technically you'll have challenges. Likely best you talk with a Server Savant about what you're targeting to accomplish, before you get to far down your implementation track. Also, you'll have far more flexibility if you dump your .net tech + go with strait up LAMP... Linux + Apache + MariaDB + PHP + WordPress. With .net you'll end up spending considerable time trying to fix technical issues that are unfixable or take many times the hours + dollars required to fix with a Lamp Stack.DF

Is go daddy a good hosting option if I want to start small and scale to hundreds of thousands of users?
Godaddy is pain for developers and technical people, as it is set up for simple things. You can use any good hosting companies or any cloud servers. But if you need to talk to a human godaddy is a good option. Scalability will not be an issue with Godaddy, as they can sell you any infrastructure when you grow bigger.AA
