MenuWe are launching a white label platform on Goodsie targeting small/medium size design/devs firms. Any ideas on where to start our marketing efforts?
We will offer a totally branded platform that these firms can build/manage multiple client ecommerce sites. There's really on one in our space that does this or does it well.

The 1st thing you should do it to identify 100 potential customers from your group to approach them and to offer them to use the platform to test it out.
These people will not only give you feedback on how to improve it but also will give you testimonials for your website.
The next thing to do (when you have the testimonials) is build some landing pages and to run some Google AdWords. Do some A/B testing and test different value propositions. I recommend adding some retargeting to your site so you don't lose visitors forever.
When you have tested out which keywords work best, you cans tart investing more in SEO. It will take time to rank well but it's worth to start doing it early.
Focus on content marketing that is related to your product and at the same time attracts and educates your target audience. Use ebook and webinars to generate leads and engage your audience.
Don't forget to focus on blogging. That is really important in your type of business. Share your content on social media during the day. Use followerwonk to know when to share on Twitter and run some tests to figure out the best time for Facebook and Google+. Find influencers in your industry and connect with them online. These people will make the difference in your business.
I believe in the first months you should focus on:
1. Getting feedback about your product
2. Generating leads through PPC, SEO, content marketing and social media.
3. Using your first users feedback to generate some publicity

Being the owner of a web design firm myself, if you want to target design and development firms, the forums on Wordpress.Org and Drupal.org is a prime place to start marketing. You could simply get involved in their forums and put your signature to the white label platform in your signature.
For social media: Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google Plus are your best bets.

Over the years I have been listening to professionals struggle with how to get their message out there into today’s marketplace that is interruption-driven. So much noise, so many outlets to participate in. Who has the time or the expertise to find their online audiences, deliver their value propositions and respond to inquiries?
People respond to me online mainly because I focus on two online best practices that ensure a high probability of success for any professional agenda... http://mvb.me/s/51dfd5
Understanding the white labelling is the best way to decide.
“White label business” refers to a fully supported product or service that is made by one company but sold by another. White label product definition implies that it is a “raw” generic commodity, which is consequently rebranded, customized with the company’s logo, label, and identity, and used as their own. After the company customizes the product with the feel and look of their own brand, it can begin selling the product as its own collecting revenues and share the commission with the service provider or technology. All technical issues associated with white label platform development, as well as further support and maintenance, are entirely outsourced to the white label company. As a result, the brand receives the product which is made in accordance with technical requirements set before implementation. Saving money, time, and technical platform management are not the only reasons why you might want to launch your own platform. Unlike renown franchise scheme when you use someone else’s name, White Label allows you to create a unique product, launch your own capitalization service model, and start winning the digital advertising world with it as a business owner. There is more to it, by rebranding a white label product as your own, you are reinforcing your trademark alongside with reputation. Through a partnership with a vendor, advertisers get to the market faster and provide customers with a solution immediately. Furthermore, such a solution is exceptional from the point of customization.

What should I do to have my first client on Clarity.fm?
I started on Clarity just by answering questions last summer. I used to love Quora but really disagreed with a number of changes they made and so when Clarity launched answers, I started answering questions. I'm incredibly busy but let's face it: we all have extra time. We spend it looking at our phones, on Facebook, socializing with friends, whatever way each person does it, we all spend time on non mission critical stuff. Because I genuinely enjoy helping others, I treated Quora as a way of relaxing the same way others would read news sites or blogs. And so I switched all that time to Clarity by answering questions. I don't recall the exact specifics but by providing real answers (not just, "call me, I can help you), I had my first call request within about a month of my first answer. And I got a nice review. And some more questions answered, and a couple more calls, and a couple more reviews. And from that point, the call volume increased. Simultaneously, I started referring all "can I pick your brain" requests on LinkedIn and email to my Clarity account. And so some calls initiated that way. More reviews. Now, a year later, I have done over 200 calls, with the majority of it inbound from Clarity. Take it from me, if you make the time, and provide genuine help to people, you will get rewarded for it. But like anything in life, if you're not willing to invest the time and resources, you're unlikely to see any return.TW

How does my startup hire an affordable marketing expert?
I don't even know how to answer this. Do you know what the difference between McDonalds and the local burger joint that is filing for bankruptcy is? It's marketing. McDonalds is worth billions of dollars not because of the quality of their food, but because of their marketing. Marketing is not an expense. A janitor is an expense. Your computer is an expense. Marketing is an INVESTMENT. Would you shop around for the cheapest heart surgeon? Of course not. Because you would likely end up dead. Why, then, do you shop around for a marketing expert? Are you ok with your company going bankrupt? Is that worth the small savings to you? No. Of course not. Hire someone who is good at marketing. Hire someone who knows what they are doing. Buy yourself a Lamborghini with your profit the first quarter. Get a beach house in hawaii. Grab a yacht. Or, try to find your business the cheapest heart surgeon you can and then spend the next five years wondering why such a solid business idea failed in the first 6 months. I'm passionate about this exact topic because all those statistics you read about "70% of businesses failing in two years" are solely because of horrible marketing.AM

What is the most creative way to introduce myself (and therefore my service) to 100 key decision-makers without selling or pitching anything?
You've answered your own question. Reach out to your prospects with the question, such as "How would you...". Ask what people want then give it to them if you can with integrity and thoughtfulness.DI

How to promote a paid iOS app to increase downloads ?
Your best bet to get traction quickly in USA is to advertise on mobile ad networks. You may need to advertise on CPM/CPC basis instead of CPI if you have a paid app so make sure you understand your user lifetime value and watch conversion rates closely so you don't overspend. That said, depending on what your niche/vertical is, there are many other ways to market non-gaming apps.SR
