My goal is to command the highest rate of any personal trainer in NYC ($300 + per session). Should I enlist a PR firm/agency?
You will always be your best PR agency. Because if you can't sell yourself, then no one will be able to sell / market you. In my experience, when I start something with money as the focus I fail. However when I work to create something amazing for others, I win and win big. My advice is to focus on creating value (amazing value) and then the money, exclusivity and $300 /hourly rate will flow to you. Imagine for a moment a PR firm getting you XYZ celebrity / billionaire client. If you can't deliver on creating value for that client you will never retain them as a customer. Use price as a strategy to position you (the brand) and then never stop creating more and more value for others. I hope this helps.RS

Should I employ a PR person to help grow our business?
Personally, I think you sould focus more on social media than PR. PR can be great, especially if you need to deal with some bad press, but all PR tends to work very short-term. Social media can be a great way to build your brand and make a connection with your audience in a much more personal way than any PR can do. I would specifically hire a PR expert or agency that has experience and knowledge in other areas of web marketing, as these things are often tied together.SD

How can I get in touch with journalists at top publications that would help me write an intro for my startup?
Some suggestions on how to pitch to journalists: 1. Pitch with a very interesting sentence headline (the title and headline needs to capture the journalist's attention and interest) 2. Convey an interesting storyline or something that is impactful. Everyone likes a good story. 3. Be concise and use associations that journalists can relate to. E.g. maybe your startup is the Uber for X or Airbnb for Y. Some suggestions on how to search for jouralists: 1. Search for big publication's twitter account and find associated journalists' twitter handles. Send a tweet to the journalist. Concisely summarize your pitch in 140 characters. 2. Search for big publication's LinkedIn account and find associated journalists' Linkedin profiles. Send an Inmail. Refer to previous section on best practices in pitching.JY

Can you recommend some must-read and good books on CSR?
Forget books, if you want to understand CSR just go online and read about case studies of CSR nightmares and read content from those who hate corporations. This will tell you both the problems and results of bad CSR. The solutions will be obvious.RQ
