MenuWhat is the best option or way to deliver video lessons to paying clients?
I want to start a WordPress site and deliver video lessons to paying clients. Is this the best option?
Where do I host the videos? Is Youtube a good option? Can I make the videos available only on my site page and accessible only to paying clients? How do I do that?

I have four different online courses with video content right now and there are lots of choices. If you're just starting out and want something that is easy with no monthly fee and built-in sales/landing pages with the ability to stop video downloads, you should check out Gumroad.com
Give me a call if you want to discuss any strategy about how to actually sell the courses/videos.
Thanks

You can use Paid Memberships Pro + WP Courseware together to provide a Udemy like courseware site.
You can host videos on YouTube or if videos are screen captures, encode your videos at 1000kbs + mono/128k audio + 15fps. This will produce HD videos which are very small.
This way you can self host your videos, which allows easier protection schemes + avoids expensive video services or YouTube Ads, which might be for competitors or just random + certainly will take attention away from your course.
Look at PMP + WP Courseware docs for how to associate videos with different membership levels + only allow people who've paid for specific membership levels to access related videos.
The paid-memberships-pro-for-wp-courseware plugin available at WordPress.org provides glue between PMP + WP Courseware, making using both even easier.
Keep in mind, depending on how many people are logged in to your site simultaneously, you can run into site performance problems.
Best to hire someone who understands tooling membership sites, to allow many simultaneous logged in users with no performance loss.
This type of site design is fairly easy to do from scratch...
And very difficult to do after a site is running.
Best to design your WordPress site based on expect numbers of simultaneous users.
When you are starting out you want a system that's got built in "funnels" that allow you to create courses, add bundles or recommend additional courses to your students. Your system should be easy to use, give you templates that you can modify and add your branding to and your videos are stored via a cloud system. I recommend Thinkific.com. They also handle the payment processing.
If you'd like to reach out to me I'd be happy to talk about targeting students for your courses with you.

There's a new platform called Uscreen that pretty much takes care of everything you've mentioned.
Vimeo also has a few of these features in their mid-tier packages.
You can see examples of video embeds on our site:

They are a pretty phenomenal hosting service nowadays.

Who sold a lot on Clickbank or JVzoo? Any advice you recommend to get started with a new course on those platforms?
I run some affiliate marketing campaigns for products on Warrior Plus. If you want to start a new course teaching people how to become successful affiliate marketers in either Clickbank or JVZoo, you need to show them that you yourself is already a successful affiliate marketer. You need to show them the shortcuts. You also need to show people that you are able to mentor them to success. In the sales page you need to show myriad of successful students, and during the course, you need to ensure that your students achieve the results quicker than they expect. How to create a digital product/course? I have the knowledge but struggle with how to organize it and what format to present it in?
This is not a simple question to answer, but one I can relate to because I am currently creating an online course and I initially struggled getting passed the outline phase. I found the driving factor to determine the best organization of instructional content is understanding what your audience wants (or needs) to learn from your course. There are several organizational methods you can use. I’ll list a few examples, and I’d be happy to discuss further if you need help structuring yours. 1) Sequential: This method is best used to teach a step-by-step process, like the installation of a computer system. 2) Hierarchical: This method is best used to teach content which requires that a learner master subordinate skills or knowledge to advance to a higher level skill. For example, in order to teach someone how to trade stocks, they would first need to learn about the stock market. 3) Importance: This method is best used when teaching policies — commonly used by companies for internal training where they explain the important topics first, and progress to less important, ancillary topics. 4) Complexity: This method is best used when the topic you are teaching is difficult and may turn off your audience. You ease the audience with easier, generic topics, and progress to more difficult topics. Hope this helps! And request a call if you need assistance designing your course. - ArmandoAI

Which is smarter, and why: Building an audience with free content, versus selling knowledge?
Hi, First of all, based on the informative manner in which you phrased your question, you seem very intelligent and business/internet savvy - so either way, I'm sure you'll do great. Answer: I would go for both. Why? Because they are not exclusive to each other. Some people will just want to read about a specific subject/issue/solution within the field, and others will want to read the entire e-book. Also, some people like to have a book layout, versus others who prefer reading short posts. The online concern with an e-book is the re-publishing of the content by a third party - but if you release the eBook only after you publish most of the content on your website, this won't be a problem because Google recognizes who published the original content first. If the above us not an option because of the specific subject you're covering, then I would go with the online resource option (and not the e-book). The eBook is a once off profit model, whereas you could probably sell numerous products/services on the website (I would of course need to see all the numbers to give you a 100% answer). p.s.: if the business has a lot of potential (backed by numbers), I would be willing to consider a small investment (if this interests you). I've successfully helped over 300 entrepreneurs, and am happy to help you as well. Best of luckAB

What are your top pro-tips for getting over the hump with an online course? Getting in online > marketing > through to profits?
I'm actually in the middle of doing this exact same thing, ie, converting my in-person brand workshop into online modules. I would be happy to have an informational call and I can share what I've done so far about converting the workshop into modules and lessons with worksheets. If interested, message me and we can connect. -JLJT
