MenuHow to legally work in the US?
I'm a European entrepreneur searching for options to legally work and live in the US based on the E or L visa. I've been already running a US LLC for almost 3 years but still hold only B1/B2 visa. I'm looking for an immigration expert to help me undergo the whole process with the Homeland Security.

Hire a local immigration lawyer.
Been through the process myself. Sooner started, sooner finished. Probably good to get in before the administration changes and possible new guidelines come down from on high.
There is no short answer to this question. The E and L visas could both be options. I would be happy to discuss your situation in greater detail with you to see what visa options make sense.
When running a US business with a B-1/B-2 visa, please be sure to spend as much time outside the US as inside. At some point you may be stopped at the airport and asked to explain why you are traveling to the US so frequently.

I live in a third world country, What's the first step I should take to move out and start a business in the States?
I would suggest looking into 500 Startups or other accelerators that target developing markets. They will help you get up to speed and make invaluable introductions. After going through the right accelerator a lot of doors will be open to you and then you can expand your network in Silicon valley itself.SN

Can I run my already international business as a foreign student in the USA?
Hearty Congratulations on the Global Success of Your Worldwide (Social Networking) App. However : You Do Urgently Need to Get Yourself an American Immigration Attorney ; so that your F1 Visa Status in the USA will not Adversely Affect your Apparently (Rather) Successful Social Media Venture. Owning an American Company may not necessarily (or automatically) translate into getting a (Full-Fledged) American Investors Visa ; most especially if the USA Visa Officer did not see anything about a Profitable American Company on your F1 Visa Application Form. Find an Experienced USA Immigration Attorney (Quite Quickly). If you are able to get American (or International) Investors to Loan You about One Million Dollars (US$1,000,000), then perhaps the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Programme may (actually) be a Far Much Better Option for You ; most especially if you can employ at least Ten American Citizens in (certain) Economically Deprived Areas. (In Fact) As At Today : US$500,000 could possibly get you an EB-5 Investors Visa ; provided that you Employ about 10 (Ten) American Citizens from Targeted Employment Area (TEA) Zones. Good Luck.PO

How can my brother move from South-Africa to Holland
I know South Africa has a critical skills list on our department of home affairs website for people who want to come here. Maybe Holland has the same and he can apply for a work visa and then explore his options once there?LZ

Are immigration lawyers forced to decline clients because the prospective new client is unable to pay the immigration lawyer their fee?
Let's first of all position who are the audiences for an Immigration Firm. If we classified immigration into: 1- Skilled immigration (Employees), and 2- Business Immigration (Investors) Skilled Immigration fees are affordable and due to the high competition the Professional Fees are competitive and payment plans are there to attract more clients. HINT: Despite that, Applicants have to conduct an overall check up about the credibility of their meant immigration consultants. On the other hand, Business Immigration which involves a bigger amounts of fees and investment are treated somehow different. As per the country of destination and the route of immigration which is almost limited between Property Investment, Financial Instruments Investment and Donation varieties of payments plans are offered to attract Investors. In other words, Legal Fees and Processing Fees are considered as a small portion of the Deal which doesn't shape a concern to Migrant Investors rather than the tool used for immigration and the success rate of that firm. HINT: When choosing an immigration program it is preferable not to pick Immigration firms relying only on RCBI programs (Residency & Citizenship by Investment) as the risk lies in the project continuity as per the demand which to some extent can delay the whole immigration files under that project.IA

Should I go niche or be a general visa/immigration platform?
I am a bit confused why you are starting a business, but asking how to best monetize it. That is a red flag, at the start. In my experience, when you are starting (or looking to gain more clients), defining a niche is a far better strategy than being a generalist. That said, once you are established, you can expand your service offerings. But at the start, you must be known for something (a niche), otherwise, you’ll be known for nothing. By choosing a niche, you can position yourself as a true expert and give your clients the assurance that you understand their needs, speak their language, and know how to solve their problems. As a generalist, you are likely to be seen as a “Me too!” A widget who can be replaced at any time. Further, a widget often relies on competing on price, as there is no differentiator between you and the next widget. You are interchangeable. Therefore, you must be cheaper than the next widget and a race to the bottom ensues. And be careful, because a race to the bottom is not one you want to win.SN
