MenuWhat is the best way to get started on Clarity if I already have an existing audience elsewhere?
Until now have only offered hourly or monthly coaching programs, so I'm interested in incorporating my Clarity profile into what I already offer.

I've been in your shoes.
Here's how Clarity has helped me:
1. I meet new people on Clarity who call me, sometimes more than once, then migrate over to my other programs or buy online courses or products.
2. I promote my Clarity page to my existing tribe. What I find is that some people like to talk to me and make sure I'm 'real' before investing in courses or programs that they've been considering.
3. Sometimes when people want a 'quick talk' I send them to my Clarity profile simply to have Clarity take care of the billing, payment and scheduling.
4. Whenever someone asks if I can join them by phone or skype to 'pick my brain,' I respond with my Clarity page link. This derails the free-consulting seekers.

I'm just getting started with Clarity. I have a few free calls booked (I just asked my existing audience if they'd like to book for free) and that should give me a few testimonials.
I've also set my rate to half of what it normally is, to encourage people to book calls. I'll raise it later after I've worked with a few people.
I will follow up with those who book calls if I think they're a good fit for my business plan bootcamp or other programs.

Clarity has offered a way that you can link your Clarity profile to your blog.
Choose "Edit Profile", then look on the right bar and click "Add A Blog Widget". Copy and paste the embed code to your blog plug-ins.
Then done!

Can a C Corp be the owner of and fund several LLC's? Can these LLC's have the same paid Directors?
Yes! But is very tricky. I have a C Corp own two LLCs. You should have separate board of directors in the C Corp that are not owners in the LLCs. Pay through bonuses rather than salaries and aggregate expenses of the LLCs as op. expenses as SBUs of the corp. The reasons for having a C own LLCs can vary, my reasons were that it allows me to join or create new ventures without having to formalize them with dedicated teams, just cycle my team to different efforts while seperatig expenses, not reporting publicly what is being worked on, and if the product takes off the formation is already there to grow the product into a division or umbrella product of my main company. LLCs are easy to form, while C corps are not... One example would be having a conglomerate of investors under a c corp and have advisors and creating an LLc for each new rental construction development project completed. Each is his own, if something goes wrong the LLC covers the C entity- this protecting its investor members. Best of luck! Humberto Valle #unthinkHV

How do you convince your customers to pay for your consultation time on clarity?
The way I see things, a pay-per-minute phone consultation ought to involve no sales pitch whatsoever. Nobody wants to pay for that, and nobody should. Consulting and sales are utterly different roles. Mutually exclusive, in fact. Is your value proposition external to the call or internal? A consulting call ought to be self-contained. By the time a client hangs up, they ought to be in a better position than where they started – with no further obligation to pay us. So ask yourself what the purpose of the phone call is. If your goal is to sell a product or service – a useful WordPress plugin in this case – then the call is a sales presentation not a consultation, and it ought to be free. The hard truth of sales is that a large percentage of prospects (the majority, usually) won't buy, even after a 30-minute presentation about the virtues of your offering. Time spent talking to dead ends must be factored in to your price and recouped by successful sales. Adding that cost as a fee for the sales pitch itself won't work out well. This is sometimes a tough distinction to make. In my own case, I offer a number of services (e.g. brand name creation) that go beyond the scope of a 15-minute phone call. When someone is paying me $5 per minute, I don't want to squander their time and money by explaining some other paid service! So the rule I've set myself is to stick to problems I can solve on the phone. When it's appropriate to explain the broader services that I offer, I try to do so in a non-paying context. Mainly through email. There's nothing wrong with using a free Clarity.fm call for a sales pitch. But it does sound like you're using phone calls in order to pitch a purchase; so charging for such calls would probably backfire.JP

How can I go about finding a business partner for my startup?
Hello! Aside from the typical website platforms, I would recommend using Twitter's hashtags and user handles. Try following and using the ones that your potential prospect or otherwise ideal partners would be following and start sharing about your work, your progress, and outreach for a potential partner. If possible try to be local when doing so. But obviously, some to use include Startups.co, Basecamp, Inc 500, yesPHX, BetaBulls, MPV, Lean Startup, Lean Methodologies, TechCrunch, etc.HV

What is the best way to capture and track referrals directed from a landing page?
There are a few ways to track things automatically, but they get complicated: - referral program software - Give your referrers special URL's with parameters that identify them as the referrer (like http://url.com/?referrer=JohnDoe), then push that value into a hidden form field - Create a separate landing page for each referrer I'd keep things much simpler to start. Just tell your social club that there's a referral program in place, then add a form field on your signup process asking who referred the new customer. If John Doe knows that there's a program in place, when he refers someone, he's likely to tell them "make sure you say I referred you". When the new customer joins, they'll likely remember to enter "John Doe" as the referrer. It's not bullet proof, but it's an easy way to start.CD
