Question
My website mainly targets international users, however, when I check my Google Analytics it shows that 20% of my traffic is coming from the United States; which is the highest country percentage in my GA.
I'm not sure if this is 100% accurate or maybe it's international users using USA proxies to access my website, but I wish this 20% was coming from an international country instead.
What tactics/methods can I use to increase my international traffic and lower the USA traffic coming to my website?
Answer
Are you focused on a specific channel?
Most answers here seem to be focusing on organic search only.
I also agree that localized content will give you a boost. Consider a multi-country / multi lingual strategy where you can target specific geographies. Include ccTLDs as part of it ns srt them up correctly in your Google Search Console, OR, use subdirectories to direct traffic to specific audiences.
