MenuHow should I advertise the first item I'm selling on my website?
Im selling an iPhone case that I know will be intriguing to my target market. I realize that in order to bring in sales I have to advertise. I'm targeting females aged 15-40. Where should I advertise?
Answers
You should first figure out your audience more specifically.
Females 15-40 is very broad. Will all of that audience like the 1 product you have..?
Get specific before you advertise. For example - you are selling iphone cases so you would ideally like the ability to target only people with iphones.
Facebook seems a logical place to start as you can plug in your current profile of iphone users females ages 15-40.
Location - local national or international..?
(Im going to guess local & national)
Also you might want to consider the style of your cases will appeal to certain types of people more than others.
If you have a minions case (hot at the time of writing as the first minion movie is out)
This might currently have a broad appeal because of the movie.
So you can also add in this as an interest when you promote your cases on facebook.
Or if you are selling leather folding iphone cases there might be a different type of person who would be more interested.
It might be more of a male/female mix as well who are slightly older 30+ at a guess (of course I would need to research - this is purely for illustration)
My point hopefully is that before you start advertising you need to figure out who your advertising to and what specifically they will want.
Facebook is a great place to start as you have so many choices to only promote your products to exactly the people who are interested in what you are offering.
Hope this helps
Good Luck

ps.
If you need help with this I can offer a strategy session to help with this part of your business plan - this will help you build a solid base for you businesses long term success.

I'd probably start with social media marketing as a way to build interest in your product. You can run paid social ads, but that works best with a solid social media plan in place, one that covers multiple social networks.
From there you can run some pay-per-click ads directed to a landing page on your website. Once you get yourself established you should then move into a full-scale web marketing campaign.
You have two major challenges:
1. Driving traffic to your website.
2. Making them buy there.
A single SKU does not usually make an Internet business. What is the product? What is your current web traffic. who/where is it coming from, Is there already a want and desire for it in the market?
If you do not clearly know these answers, then you must rethink the whole process.
If you have a single product that is consumer oriented, plant seeds by testing on Amazon and/or eBay. The most female-skewed social media site is Pinterest if your product may sell via visuals.
Your question is screaming "I need a Business and Marketing Plan." You must start there.
It is easy to advertise your new product.
1. Send Free Samples to Influencers.
2. Start Blogging.
3. Build an Email List.
4. Sponsor an Event.
5. Interview Industry Influencers.
6. Pull a PR Stunt.
7. Experiment with AdWords.
8. Share the Load with Affiliate Marketing.

What is the best timing in the new year to launch business marketing?
Hi there! In few words, the launch date does not matter a lot as long as you are following with a continuous marketing plan all the year. It is better to tune your lunch date according to your marketing campaign than connecting it to the seasonal event. The timing of your launch only matters if your website is already ranked or has a good authority associated to it. Launching a website is not like opening a local shop. The launch date is defined by the effectiveness of your marketing campaign. In other words, your question must be rephrased as: "When is the best time to launch my first marketing campaign for my newly created website?". In that case, you will need to describe in details what kind of website you have and how are you planning to market it. I would be able to give you a more accurate answer if you explain to me what kind of website are you planning to launch or what products mainly are you selling. Hope that helps!RZ

Which link shortener should we use in our social sharing strategy to track our Analytics?
I might suggest starting with Bitly and exploring the possibility of getting a custom branded shortener, which you can set up through Bitly once the domain is purchased. For example, my website is philpallen.com but I shorten all links to philp.al/link so it's more professional. I feel like many other shorteners look like spam, but I'd say your safe with Bitly because it's widely used. A custom one would be even better!PP

Where do I put my advertising dollars when launching a iOS app?
There is NO simple answer for this. Is the app a game? Is it a utility? Is it a social app? All apps have different advertising/launch strategies. On a broad level, Facebook's in-stream mobile app ads have proven to be very effective for conversions so I would probably start there. The key is to concentrate your efforts in the first 3-4 days of launch for advertising so you can drive up downloads and app reviews in a short period to (hopefully) be recognized in the "new and notable" and "what's hot" categories in the AppStore. Doing that effectively elongates your launch by getting in front of more people and increasing downloads.RW

Is it possible to start a Social Media Marketing Agency with not much experience in Social Media and not much money?
I have to ask why you would start an agency in an area you don't have much experience in. Perhaps you'd be better off getting at least a little experience first?AV

What are the best ad networks to use in my mobile game for great ROI?
I guess the best answer is, it depends. What kind of mobile game are you marketing? Who are you targeting? For what platform? (iOS, Android?) Different ad networks work better than others depending on the type of game. A good place to start would be MoPub, MDotM, Manage, and Insight.JS
