Content Marketing & Strategy

Content marketing is typically one area where startups come to me and say they wish they started 3, 6 or 9 months ago. As a result I typically recommend setting up a content marketing strategy as early as possible. It's important to remember however that content marketing doesn't just have to be refined to blogs. It can include white pages, infographics, videos, etc. At the end of the day its about analysing your audience and where you can reach them best.
With content marketing I also advise putting together a strategy to ensure you can remain consistent, without overwhelming yourself or feeling like writing a blog post becomes a chore. Not only will it show in your writing, but this can take the focus off the bigger tasks/goals you have to accomplish.
Finally, one area I have seen startups fall short on is the fact that writing/preparing the content is only part of the journey. You then need to have an appropriate plan to distribute and share that content. And also understand what value it will drive back to your business over time.
