Getting a Foot in the Door to Get a Careers in Non Profit World

Paul is a visionary who isn't afraid to imagine a bold and inspiring future, whilst calling others to do the same. His optimism and excitement is contagious, which makes it a joy to work on projects with him. I've learnt a lot from watching Paul lead and been inspired to push further in my own career and life as a result.

I have come to know Paul in 2012 in his then new role as Global Youth Engagement Director. We worked together in a mostly virtual team to improve World Vision's youth engagement efforts globally.
Paul is a very friendly and open person who is passionate about his job. From my perspective, his ability to bring together people from various backgrounds and have them collaborate in a very constructive manner is remarkable. He was able to build a global network in which he constantly shared his ideas and looked for input. In addition, he was able to combine extensive travelling among various time zones with productive work in mostly virtual teams.

Working with Paul we always get filled with inspiration, energy and the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of others. He's an incredible motivator, a fantastic collaborator who contributes all of the right things at what always felt like just the right time. Paul is exceptionally creative marketer. He always constructively challenges the status quo and drives for change and growth. During his time at World Vision New Zealand, he found constantly new ways to engage with supporters and refresh the established World Vision brand. He is also an amazing people person. He keeps good care of his current networks while finding ways to open doors to new opportunities. Paul is an excellent social marketer and communicator, sensitive to cultural differences and bringing innovative approaches to the youth mobilization projects. We worked closely on several regional campaigns, that involved mobilization of various stakeholders, including NGOs, government, Churches, corporate sector and youth networks. It was a pleasure to build strategies together, and Paul always brought in additional creative thinking. In addition, Paul has strong background in working with donors, and this expertise ensured the sustainability of the projects we've developed. He has the skill of energizing people around, and motivate the team to think outside the box.

Paul is one of the most passionate individuals I have had the pleasure of working with in the Third Sector. The prototype for a great team member is a compassionate soul mixed with a spirit of Instigating. Paul starts things. He doesn't wait for the world to tell him what to do. And he does it with a generosity and grace seldom found in a corporate structure.

Paul is an inspiring and challenging leader in all the best possible ways! He has energy and passion in bucket-loads and his capacity for new ideas is astounding. He has a thorough understanding of how to connect the dots of marketing, communication and sales to arrive at innovative strategies for growth. I would recommend him for anyone who is looking at new ways of doing things and a leader who can pull diverse teams together to achieve a big goal.

Paul and I have worked together for the past two years and I have found him to be a man of the highest ethical standards. His fertile brain works at 100 miles an hour and if you listen carefully he provides a stream of really good ideas and advice.
