I’m an independent consultant, advisor and mentor with a decade of experience. My passion is solving problems creatively to achieve challenging goals. Above all, I enjoy advising startup founders and business owners how to prepare for success. I’m fortunate to have worked with inspiring leaders and talented entrepreneurs. I’ve learnt how to win, while avoiding failure. Now I want to share those lessons with you.
My career spans operations, strategy, sales and more. After studying at Oxford University I joined the British Army as an officer, training at Sandhurst. I saw active duty in Afghanistan, learning a lot about leadership under pressure. When I left the Army I took the opportunity to help start a tutoring company focused on home education. The learning curve was steep but invaluable. Tutors and Futures is still going strong – I advise them as a non-executive director.
Then I joined food startup Deliveroo in London as the 2nd employee in operations. I held several senior management roles during my time there. The CEO also tasked me with special projects, like getting more of our 60,000 drivers on electric vehicles. But I’m most proud of hiring and training talented people to build effective, happy teams. Within 5 years we expanded to 13 countries, becoming a tech unicorn worth $2 billion.
Now I provide consulting and advice to businesses of all sizes, from a range of industries. At the same time I mentor founders and owners. Many of the businesses I work with value sustainability, because I’m a strong believer that sustainable practices can make any business more successful.
