You really have to question the organization you are in, or running, if you are outsourcing the lynchpin of your customer development and product development. This is especially important if you are at the early stage. If those full time invested in the company aren't setting the vision, which leads to the roadmap and then backlog to execute...then who is?
Different organizations view PM differently. Some confuse them with project managers...avoid at all costs. They don't know what they want: someone to set the vision because they don't have one and/or be the middleman between them and the engineers...again, avoid at all costs.
Andy is one of the most hard-working, mature, intelligent and just all-around likable guys I have ever had the good fortune of working with. Andy joined my Old Navy team and jumped in immediately - taking over large national productions and managing extremely demanding clients, all while maintaining the integrity of the creative work. He quickly caught on to Crispin culture and was a favorite of all departments for his ability to act quickly and decisively, and his ever-present 'grace under fire' style. His business savvy side was a huge plus to his agency team, and he is also a great mentor and manager. Any company would be extremely fortunate to have Andy on board. I look forward to working with him again some day!
Working with Andy doesn't feel like work but definitely looks like work. Work well done!
It's a pleasure to produce great work while managing to keep a great atmosphere in the work environment.
Andy does that just fine!
Andy is my current business partner...so anything I say will be viewed as self-promoting fluff. However, Andy is great to work with and is the driving force behind our burgeoning company. He is a fantastic blend of innovative and calculating, which has been invaluable to our start-up. In high school he missed two days per week...now he's working weekends till 2am.
Merging two teams is often very difficult due to the different demands each team is facing. Andy was always extremely professional and detail oriented when managing our marketing projects and made the collaboration a pleasure. He was easily my favorite partner at CP+B and we were all sad to see him leave the team. I am confidant that Andy will be a huge asset where ever he is and always a pleasure to work with.
Andy wears many hats and makes it look easy! He will bend over backwards to get the job done well and timely. Andy brings such great value to our company with his intelligence and creativity that he exemplifies in every task.
Andy O'Dower is a superb marketing and business manager who understands planning (timeframes), analysis, synthesis and solutions. His acumen stretches far beyond his initial experience, and will therefore be successful in any endeavor he attempts.
