Great to speak with such a seasoned entrepreneur. He gave me some great insight about how to continue to hire the best of the best when it comes to developers. So grateful for this call.
Source: Clarity Tracy Simmons Jul 5, 2013A very approachable and down-to-earth guy. Miles made some interesting suggestions which may prove quite helpful in terms of the direction I decide to take with my idea. Hope we talk again. Thanks, Miles
Source: Clarity Mark Hayes Jan 18, 2013Miles loves to talk start-ups and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table (technical, commercial and practical). Having just shared a couple of ideas with Miles, I now feel a lot more confident about what I should be doing next!
Source: Clarity Ben Ridgway Jan 15, 2013Miles is super nice and smart! Highly recommend a call with him.
Source: Clarity Dan Martell Dec 19, 2012Miles pulled off a technology turn-around at Insider Pages. When I hired him he inherited a mess of spaghetti code that broke every time we released, a tech team in disarray, and an ops architecture woefully unsuited to handle the millions of visitors we were getting each month. Two years later we've got a very strong Agile/XP dev team (hired and developed by Miles), a super fast app running off a beautiful code base with excellent test coverage, and a scalable, very efficiently run ops infrastructure. He's fostered an environment where developers love to work and where velocity is high. Miles inspires and leads by example. He never asks anyone to do anything he wouldn't do himself - and always rolls up his sleeves to help out. He has a keen knack for identifying and removing the hurdles that might get in his team's way - and in doing so, he helps every member of the team be more successful. A great CTO is not only someone who can build, hire and inspire an excellent technology team, but also someone who deeply understands the drivers of the business. Miles understood the business as well as I did and never took his eye off of profitably growing the business. You can count on him to be a thought partner who thinks about a lot more than just technology and a great human being who is a pleasure to be around. He is the best I've worked with and I hope to get the chance to do it again.
