Ensemble Mitglied (Tenor Soloist) at Oper Frankfurt since August, 2000 Einspringer (fill-in for a sick singer who has had to cancel) work in Essen, Nürnberg, Berlin, and others.
I have been a full-time operatic performer for more than 14 years. By the end of the current season, I will have performed 70 roles over the course of my career. My performance count is nearing 1,000.
I am currently preparing my 68th, 69th, and 70th roles for operatic productions. I have worked with numerous directors, each of whom has her/his own way of communicating their ideas for the character.
I studied German a bit in school, and then a great deal on my own before I came here to work. Once I arrived I learned how to really learn the language!
I have been hired by Museum Steinau in Steinau an der Strasse, Germany, to translate their museum guide into English. I have also translated into English professionally for a professor of practical theology in Hamburg. Throughout my studies and my career I have had to translate texts from Italian, French, and German operas and songs for myself over the last 20+ years.
I am an opera singer who has been working professionally for almost 15 years, and I have learned about multiple vocal techniques over the years, always adding to, and sometimes replacing parts of my technique in order to continue to hone my craft.
