How to Build an Analytics Practice That's Right for Your Business
Created 5 years ago in Business / Getting Started

I have 14 years of experience building complex analytical models in domains including (but not limited to) physics, astrophysics, insurance, IT, e-commerce, marketing, and biotechnology.
Over this time, I've learned that every business needs a thoughtful approach to not only their analytics, but also in building a culture that is friendly to innovation.
When building an analytics practice, it is generally not appropriate to just jump blindly into a bottom-up big data approach and just hope for the best.
Asking the right questions, ensuring that the right infrastructure is in place, and knowing how to tell when you're wrong, build a better foundation for success. Internal culture changes and confidence building are also needed to ensure that this success lasts.
I can help you to figure out what you need to be successful. For example, this could include
- brainstorming use cases and their priorities for you,
- evaluating quotes to make sure they meet your needs at a fair price,
- figuring out which tools best meet your modeling and visualization needs,
- finding training resources, and
- evaluating the state of your company culture and your readiness for undertaking a major analytics initiative.
This hardly covers everything, but I'm here to help you with whatever you might need to improve your own company's analytics capabilities.
