I had the distinct pleasure of working with Maya when she was one of the senior marketing strategy consultants working at my agency BLUE. I was recommended to hire Maya by Adam Sutherland and Oz Aksugur (two people in this industry that I trust completely) and it turned out to be one of the best hires we'd ever made.
In the few years and many projects that I have worked on with Maya, I have NEVER seen her lose her cool or that cheery smile on her face. She is constantly enthusiastic about every project she works on, and she brings an energy and optimism to everyone else on her teams.
She's no lightweight though... The last two projects I worked on with her, were:
- develop the strategy for a complete revamp of the web presence of one of the largest & most respected content management companies. (something akin to Microsoft asking you what their next O/S should be like) Maya's strategy was presented to the entire executive team and then implemented over the next 12 months.
- Create the curriculum and eLearning platform for teaching digital & database marketing skills to the 100,000 employees of the 2nd largest communication group in the world. Again, Maya's plan was presented to the board in New York, and taken to pilot with almost no changes.
Maya has a keen strategic mind, with a great understanding of what motivates consumers, and how you can leverage that motivation through unique communications solutions.
I loved working with Maya, traveling with Maya, and spending many afternoons drinking coffee and discussing marketing with Maya.
She would be a fantastic addition to any team, though I would be thoroughly upset if she ever chose to leave BLUE!
