Matt was a focused and driven employee who handled his responsibilities in a first-class manner. His professionalism and dedication to the job resulted in increased roles and responsibilies in a short period of time.

I hired Matt as a game-day intern with the New Jersey Jackals. In his time with the team, he excelled and was an integral part of not only the intern staff but the professional staff as well. He went above and beyond - I could trust him with responsibilities outside of his job description, and I felt comfortable asking him to complete tasks that were normally reserved for full-time employees. He was trustworthy, punctual, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable about all of his jobs, and I would strongly recommend him for any position within the sports marketing realm.

Matt was an incredible asset to SoccerFest. He is a born leader and makes the people around him better. He is also one of the hardest workers I have ever met. He was a star in the marketing department, which attracted a record number of teams to the event. He will make the life of any manager easier and make that manager look good in the process. Co-workers will benefit from working with Matt and will be better employees because of the high bar he sets.

In short, if I were in a position to hire Matt, I would. Any organization would be very lucky to have him.

Matt has great entrepreneur instincts and understands sport marketing and events. He has great listening skills and is able to motivate a team of disparate individuals to accomplish amazing things. He is extremely responsible, detail-oriented, and has developed great leadership skills at a relatively young age. If I were running an organization involved in sport marketing, he would be one of my first hires.

While at UMass, Matt Weinberger and I worked together in the marketing department of Clif Bar SoccerFest in Spring 2008. Building on his personal experience, Matt brought a wealth of good ideas to the team, especially in the realm of internet marketing.

During our time on SoccerFest, Matt became the de facto leader of our 7-person marketing team. He helped keep everyone on track as we implemented our grassroots marketing plan, always leading by example. Matt was very proactive with his ideas, following through on them from conception to execution. He would often be up working late into the night, a testament to his strong work ethic. In addition to his contributions in internet marketing and social media, Matt was also responsible for launching the first-ever SoccerFest street team.

In the end, our group maxed out the tournament field for the first time ever by increasing team registration 48% from the previous year, and Matt played a huge role in making that happen. Matt is one of the brightest marketers I've met, and I have no doubt that he will succeed wherever he goes.
