Startup ecommerce Operations leader (Birchbox, Rent the Runway, Shyp) with experiences and passion for scaling startups and implementing operational processes and systems that deliver outstanding customer experiences. Broad experience across retail and ecommerce sectors from early stage start-ups to multi-hundred million dollar businesses.
Throughout my 10 year career I’ve lead ops and logistics at a number of startups including Birchbox, Rent the Runway, and Shyp and I have also found time to advise a number of others including Harry’s, Barkbox, Dollar Shave Club, BloomThat, Shoptiques, to name a few.
I moved to San Francisco a little over 3 years ago to join Shyp, a first-mile consumer logistics business. Prior to leaving the business in October, I was Vice President of Partnerships where I lead the company's Partnerships and Sales functions. In this capacity I owned the relationships with major parcel carriers such as USPS, FedEx, UPS, DHL, and many regional, same-day/on-demand and postal work share carriers. This include ePostage and PC Postage vendors such as the Stamps.com family of businesses - Shipstation/Shipengine, Endicia, ShippingEasy, Shippo and Easypost. I also managed relationships with freight carriers and freight brokers as well as with major ecommerce platforms and marketplaces including Shopify, Ebay, Etsy, Kickstarter, Square and Magento.
Before moving to San Francisco, I spent 7 years in New York in various capacities. I was Birchbox’s first employee, where I lead Logistics and Operations scaling the supply chain from about 600 orders monthly to over 1 MM monthly shipments, in 5 countries, eventually outsourcing the business to a 3PL partner in OHL (now GEODIS) in a 150,000 SF facility just outside Nashville, Tennessee.
Prior to Birchbox I was the 6th employee at Rent the Runway where I lead warehouse operations originally out of a 100 SF nook of a dry cleaner’s in the West Village of Manhattan. I helped scale operations from 5 to 500 orders a day.
In earlier years, I was a small business owner myself, starting an internet-based sports cards and collectibles business selling through online auction houses such as Yahoo! Auctions and eBay.
