Multilingual Africa specialist, more than two decades of global experience in tourism & travel, shipping and logistics, having worked in 13 countries on 4 continents, and traveled to close to 90..
Having traveled all over Africa (close to 40 countries and counting) for work (and leisure as well, as it is a stuningly beautiful place!), I would like to share my knowledge on crosscultural communication and about doing business in Africa in general.
I have worked all over Kenya (40+ work trips), Tanzania, Uganda, Mozambique, Angola, Sudan etc. etc., mainly in the shipping and freightforwarding / logistics field.
Industries I dealt with ranged from FMCG, retail, oil&gas, mining, aid/charitable organisations.
Based in Cape Town, South Africa, I can also provide you inside about doing business in South Africa and how to find your market.
Also if you have general enquiries that most travel agencies won't be able to answer when it comes to Africa, (visa enquiries, best places to stay etc) feel free to ask me, I have discovered some real gems and loads of cost cutting hacks over the years!
Especially when travelling to countries that are a bit 'off the beaten path' it is hard to find decent information...questions about all sort of topics can't always be answered so easily by travel agents; how are the local airlines, are they safe? Do I really need to take malaria medication to this country? Can I get a visa locally or do I need to apply for it beforehand? What is the best place to stay? Is it safe for a woman alone to travel to this place at all? What is the best way to get around? How do I greet the locals, how do I behave, without offending anybody?
The list is endless, please use my expertise...I have lived in four corners of Africa and am currently living in South Africa, and have travelled to close to 40 African countries including the Indian Ocean Islands.
