I have worked construction through the local carpenters union for 15 years while also running my own contracting company. Then I went full time on my own with my company and continued to work for other contractors as a paid employee off and on through the balance of my 50 year work life. I completed my career as a full time senior estimator for 2 companies. The first company was a small general contractor doing about 1 million gross a year. I moved to a second general contracting firm doing 2 million gross a year and looking to expand. I worked for them for 6 years and when I retired they were doing 22 million plus a year using the system that I implemented when I started with them.
