Mark provided a lot of insight into how agile might interact with our project management startup idea, as well as links and resources that would be useful to us. Highly recommend.
I highly recommend chatting with Mark. He provided me with a lot of fantastic insight about Agile.
Some great actionable advice from Mark, thank you!
Really appreciate your time and effort to help me along in my journey.
Make is extremely knowledgable in the agile process but also about the agile community. We are looking to make changes to our product in order for it to fit in with the agile process. Mark was able to give us ideas on how it could be used in the agile process, what agile industries would be more open to testing it, how to engage with the community and other tools to look at that serve a similar purpose.
Mark was a disciplined and conscientious scrum master and coach. He's very active in the community and was very helpful working out the kinks in our transitions to agile development methodologies. Additionally,he was a savvy project manager that helped us restore good relations with a customer.
Mark Kilby was not only a great coworker but he is a good friend. Mark knows how to position arguments in the light of your point of view. He does exactly what a good coach should do, he allows you to understand where you should be and how to act on the situation. He doesn't tell you how to do anything, but he lets you figure it out. He is truly a great coach and he is an excellent person to bring on as a business coach.
Mark was an early adopter of Scrum which became the main delivery methodology for the corporation. He is detailed oriented and works well with team members to deliver the project milestones. Mark came from a development and technical lead background giving him a foundation to mentor and coach team members on project delivery. I worked with Mark on DoD and eCommerce projects between 2000 - 2005; he's always a pleasure to work with.
I worked with Mark while at Gestalt on multiple projects. He was my project manager when I came aboard right out of college. He was extremely helpful and motivating. He knew exactly how to manage me, giving me enough opportunities to learn on my own while still ensuring I produced quality code. Later, when the company adopted Agile methodologies Mark became one of the first scrummasters and handled the role perfectly. Mark was able to keep the team on course to finish each sprint and manage our exterior distractions. I think one of Mark's strength's is his ability to read and understand people and find a way to make everyone work as a team to accomplish the goal at hand. I enjoyed working with Mark both on a professional and a personal level and would definitely enjoy working with him again sometime in the future.
I've had the pleasure of working with Mark off and on for the past 5 years. During this time he has demonstrated his leadership and mentoring capabilities in several roles including project manager, Scrum Master, and team member. Mark's ability to be a strong customer advocate coupled with his willingness to try new techniques makes him a valuable asset to any organization. His willingness to try Agile project management techniques in 2004 served as a beacon for the entire company to eventually adopt similar practices. I would recommend Mark to any organization looking for a forward thinking, customer focused, battle-tested leader and mentor.
Mark is one of the rare ones who combines a variety of experiences and skills. In each engagement, he brings all of those tools to play, providing exceptional value and a unique experience. I look forward to working with Mark again and again.
