It has been, and is a continuing, pleasure to know Maggie Wood. Maggie is the epitome of professionalism in everything she undertakes. She is dedicated, organised, meticulous without being pedantic, efficient and manages to perform all of these skills in a friendly manner. She is able to get results from those she is dealing with because she use her amazing personality and humour which brings out the best in people. Maggie is intelligent, analytical and methodical in her approach to matters, is able to problem solve quickly and effectively and I would have no hesitation in recommending her for any position which would enable her to use her people skills combined with her brain. A delightful addition to any workplace or group.
I first met Maggie 8 years ago around the comedy traps in Adelaide. We became friends and have worked together on numerous shows over the years, including "Titters" in 2007 that won the Adelaide Fringe People‘s Choice Award. Maggie’s knowledge of all things media and her range of experience in radio, as a writer of theatre reviews to performance in musical theatre, drama and stand up comedy truly make her, as one reviewer said, “the Scot with the Lot”. When Maggie, Kate Burr and I were formulating our show for the 2011 Adelaide Fringe, “Three Stuffed Mums” (stand up comedy about the various stages of motherhood), it was Maggie who lobbied for writing original music and songs. She challenged us to expand our repertoire. We did, our show was a sell-out, and we were nominated for the 2011 Adelaide Theatre Guide Curtain Call Award for Best Comedy, as well as the 2011 Adelaide Fringe People’s Choice Award. Maggie is a professional, who is creative, funny and knows how to get the job done. She is an asset to any project she works on.
