You've heard the adage, hire slow and fire fast. How about this: don't hire the wrong people in the first place. Do not underestimate how much time it takes to train and manage new people to execute your vision. Do you really need additional people? At what price? With what skills? Be judicious, move slowly through the hiring process, and budget plenty of time to train them to work the way you want and need them to.
