MenuAssessment in Student Affairs
Created 12 years ago in Technology / Mobile
Assessment isn't all about statistics, nor is it only a large pile of surveys collecting dust on your desk. Let's talk about using assessment to better plan for and facilitate opportunities for student success while also checking in to see if we're on the right track. Success is a journey and assessment helps us choose and maintain the mode of transportation we'll use to get there.

Lisa was the Staff Coordinator of the First Year Transition Program at UTSC from November 2009 to March 2010. Lisa transitioned into this position very smoothly, especially since the semester was already underway. She was phenomenal at maintaining the program's organization and always demonstrated creativity and strategic planning skill to engage students in the program, which proved to be successful! She also always respectfully mediated interpersonal dynamics between and amongst groups in the department, especially when it came to sharing equipment and booking spaces. I enjoyed working with Lisa not only because she is always well-spirited, but also because she gave me (the program's Student Coordinator) the flexibility and autonomy to take initiative and develop my skill set. Lisa is an excellent colleague, but also a fantastic mentor/coach and friend!

Her thorough understanding of social media, the Student Affairs and Services Profession and drive to excel were wonderful assets to her work. She communicates very well and worked well with everyone on the SASA Board, which hired her. I have no hesitation in recommending Lisa.
