I am a serial entrepreneur that has started businesses in software, genetics, and land development. I have taken companies public and raised 10s of millions of dollars for public and private ventures. I possess deep industry experience in business, software, life sciences, bioinformatics, financial markets, and genetics.
My approach to mentoring focuses on 2 of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People (1989, Steve Covey). Those are: “Start with the End in Mind” and “Continuous Improvement”. This approach prunes the huge decision tree that most people face when deciding how to move their career forward and arms them with the continuous improvement habit that over time creates a massive difference in their outcomes.
Current technical knowledge/skills includes statistical analysis, machine learning (supervised and unsupervised), deep learning, SQL, Tableau, and Big Data (Hadoop, Spark, Cassandra, Redshift). I also have experience with Microsoft Azure (AI offerings) and AWS (Infrastructure As Code). I currently mentor the Data Analyst and AI Engineering paths at OpenClassrooms (https://openclassrooms.com) and am a technical reviewer for the Data Analyst NanoDegree (DAND), Data Engineering NanoDegree (DEND), and the Artificial Intelligence for Trading NanoDegree (AITND) at Udacity (https://www.udacity.com/).
