Founder of Kind Animal Services, dog walking, training, and pet care. On top of coaching and leading groups of kids on the mountain or with dogs.
I have been in the pet care industry for 10 years and worked with a number of dogs, many dogs were labeled difficult for reasons of aggression, fear, or anxiety. Sometimes it's not about training the dog but training the people to handle the dog.
I have been a ski racing coach, a 4H leader, and a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters. Between my experience teaching mostly children, but adults too, and my education in dog training and animal behavior I have a solid understanding of positive reinforcement. My favorite way to teach is by making it a game. Everything can be a game, games are fun, exciting, and extremely reinforcing! They also can create long term learning. If your in a leadership/training position you should really consider your teaching technique and see if there is room for a more fun and positive way you can get your message across.
In today's world we are still told throughout school that you should strive for college. In my opinion college (school in general) is a broken system.
I am the product of that broken system and I have found my way around it without college. I'm obsessed with learning but I refuse to follow the typical path. If your interested in your options and want to know if you can DIY your education, I would be happy to consult you.
Using my own experiences and my knowledge of Do it your self education, I will help you sort it out.
