Monday.com is one of the best platforms out there for task/project management and collaboration. It focuses on very quickly and visually being able to see what's going on.
More recently they've started to release some advanced functions, including automation, integrations, dependencies and lookups.
While the software is very simple and quick to learn on the surface, there is a surprising amount more that can be done with little known features, and tricks (especially for reporting!)

ClickUp is a new cloud Task & Project Management software on the scene and has absurdly good user experience.
There are lots of extra featrues that can be added on with ClickUp, and may ways its 4 tier organisation system can be used.
Custom fields alone can be used to match the top software on the market, with infinite ways of implementing them.
Reporting can also be greatly expanded with some know-how and use of a spreadsheet program.
