Patents From the Startup POV (Not by a Lawyer.)
Created 7 years ago in Technology / Innovation

CEO of 4 startups that successfully developed portfolios of issued patents in targeted patent prosecution campaigns. Inventor with 20+ issued patents in mobile, smartphone, messaging, cybersecurity, digital mail and social search. Litigation experience (plaintiff and defense) vs. some of the biggest tech and predatory, monopolistic dinosaur companies in the world. (Once was sued for patent infringement by a giant monopolistic competitor on the Friday before we took a company public.)
Talk about whether to file patents, what does "patent lawyer" really mean and how to hire one, risks and opportunities of patent litigation, the value of a startup patent portfolio and how investors think about patents. Getting a patent to issue vs getting a "good" patent to issue and why many patent prosecution lawyers don't care.
