From Firm/Agency to Independent Consulting

Consider me a coach on how to get into consulting.

Throughout the last 10 years, I've worked solo with over 30 clients in 4 different countries, independently, earning about $1.4 million in side income. I've often stacked my client work with other jobs and entrepreneurial projects.

The majority of my clients have developed through real relationships, which does have selling points along the way. However, if you're looking for a "how to get new clients" sales process, that's not what this call is for.

I have a specific framework that I've developed over time, which involves finding the business growth needs of clients, positioning my value through developed services, and helping them to grow their business through my own project management framework that acts as a template for quickly onboarding clients to reasonable expectations and steering projects towards goals.

My project templates becomes a tool for managing project expectations and, ultimately, delivering service value. There's a needed communications aspect of consulting that can make projects run so much smoother, if you know how to manage it. My project template has evolved with my skills. Together, they've been the bedrock for success of many continued relationships with clients.

Most people think you need a management consulting firm or agency to take on client work. That can help, but if you're profitable solo and don't necessarily enjoy large, complex or similar, cookie-cutter projects, having your own independent framework can lead to innovative opportunities, projects that revolve around your passion, and clients that develop into true friendships. For me, independent consulting has created a lot of new value for my life and the friends/entrepreneurs around me.

A call with me would be ideal for a management consultant working for a firm, who has several years of experience inside a traditional consulting environment, and is looking to add side income to his/her life. Or, I started my own consulting in college. If you're considering your career path after graduation, and you want to figure out how to start consulting at a decent rate, I can give you a lot of support.

If there's enough demand for this, I'll turn this into a larger series with tools that help you to become successful. If a project is ever interesting to my core passions, I might help you along with it outside of Clarity.fm
