Author of Kiwi.com's search engine and Nomad product, Founder of AI-driven Agro startup (autonomous mechanical weeding), Currently working on ChiselStrike
I'm a co-founder of Ullmanna (http://ullmanna.eu/) which sells technology for autonomous weeding (weed removal) based on deep neural networks. Apart from devising a neural network that is able to detect crops, we had to overcome many other non-obvious challenges like visual odometry, powerful LED flashing to overcome midday sun's shadows, cooling in field conditions etc.
Thanks to all this, I have a very good understanding of the technology and it's challenges as well as good overview of the competing products.
As a Principal engineer at Kiwi.com, I've overseen and driven the adoption of various NoSQL databases and related systems. I've described one of our DB journeys (Postgres -> Cassandra -> Scylla) in a talk on Scylla summit - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7x47ZFK5Og
Besides that, I've lead a team that implemented large-scale custom-built database to accelerate searching for optimal flight combinations.
I can provide insights and overview of the NoSQL landscape and help you find the most suitable solution for your use-case.
I have a rich experience in building Flight (and multi-modal) search engines.
I was responsible for a team that developed Kiwi.com's search engine. That meant being able to process pricing information from hundreds of sources (±7B price points) and finding optimal flight combinations in a matter of milliseconds for thousands of requests per second.
I'm also an author of Kiwi.com's Nomad product which is a variation of a Traveling Salesman problem.
I've worked closely with Amadeus, Sabre and TravelPort both integrating their search APIs and consuming their data. I've a very good understanding of their strengths and weaknesses.
