When you are in the field you need a steady, honest, and considerate voice on the line, or in your support group. Jim and I met after having worked together (in the same company) for some time --as I was a remote technical specialist. Our work and products were specialized radar systems that were sold and marketed to mines and civil operations in North America.
When it came to the sale, you needed integrity and purposed process, and Jim was able to deliver that -- within a narrow management structure, in a new market, with a revolutionary product, and under pressure and demand. The Sales and Administration process also requires transparency and teamwork -- and that is not a 1 man role, Jim always lent his knowledge of the industry and practical perspectives to the discussion and offer.
It was only later after he moved on to a better opportunity did I realize we had attended the same Brickyard -- RIT -- then I understood better that he would do whatever was appropriate and required to deliver service and success to his customers.
