Created 12 years ago in Technology / Innovation
I've consulted to startups as well as huge companies that are launching disruptive technologies and offerings -- e.g., positioning a radical imaging invention into the medical device space without drawing fire from the behemoths in the industry; or designing and introducing game-changing derivatives in the energy industry. And everything in between.
Experience like that means more when you add some expertise. I've been fortunate at Harvard to study innovators in dozens of companies: A full year of coursework with Prof. Clayton Christensen (of "The Innovator's Dilemma" fame), who is also on my dissertation committee; plus many years facilitating and coaching executive education groups with Prof. Michael Tushman, an expert on innovation in large companies.
My own research looks at week-to-week actions leadership teams can take to stay abreast of changing markets and competition -- while still delivering on existing business.
So let's talk about you: Are you puzzled about how to position your new product in existing customer and competitive markets? Not sure which elements of your business model will clash with the product or with one another?
These are make-or-break issues for your business! Let's talk and get you on the right path forward. If your data is clear, we'll chart a course forward; if not, we'll determine the short-term experiments and vital data to gather that will point you in the right direction.

Source: Clarity Peter Cooke Apr 17, 2015If you are taking hyper growth seriously, James can help you clarify your strategy and team requirements. In our talk with him he was quick to come to the basic business goal we are trying to accomplish; he was able to formulate a few suggestions that could help us reach that goal. During the process he challenged our fundamental assumptions, so that after the call we had a much clearer view of our business goals and assumptions.

Source: Clarity Alicia Monasso Oct 2, 2014Hi James
It was a pleasure spending time with you on our call last week, and for the advice and suggestions you provided as I start out on my own. Your ideas for reading Alan Weiss books, using business outcome language in my service offering descriptions, website refresh and video posting on my blog are great ideas. I also appreciate your candor on the best way to approach developing my speaking platform.
Best regards,
Gerald
