MenuWhich Tech Stack Should I Use for My Product or Service?
Created 6 years ago in Technology / Software Development
Which tech stack should I use for my product or service? The answer: (sorry!) it depends.
Some tech stacks are ideal for very technical applications but developers are very expensive and hard to find.
On the other hand some tech stacks are widely used, developers available and cheap but are not easily scalable; they are unsuitable for handling very high volumes of traffic + data.
Does your MVP really need to be built to handle 1 million+ visits / day when a simpler stack can get you to the next investment round for a fraction of the cost?
So many questions! I'd love to use the 13 years experience I have working as a developer at a senior level in the corporate and finance sector in London to answer them for you.

I'm a senior, full stack web developer with over ten years experience working in both corporate (finance) and startup sectors in London. My expertise is in Javascript, specifically node.js, mongodb, Angular.js and react.js meaning I can work on all aspects of your project from multi-threaded backend to high quality user interface. I graduated with honours from the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), began my career in server side C++, was security cleared for my work in finance and worked with top London graphic designers as senior front end developer for allsaints.com (a site with 1 million+ unique visits / month and frequent sales of £1 million+ / day). I was senior and founding developer for rangeroom.com - a startup in the fashion tech sector in London which was greenfield when I started working on it. I'm founder and developer of Smoothbook.co - an online appointments system serving a niche for yoga and fitness studios that currently manages 60,000+ appointments / month for businesses around the world. Recently I have been working with the (Ethereum) blockchain (mainly via the Javascript web3 api). I am very interested in further work on blockchain projects. I'm a developer but also have good experience with systems administration, application architecture, deployment and scaling with services such as digital ocean and Amazon Web Services. I am very easy to get along with and great talking / presenting to clients and senior management; I'm experienced with, and enjoy, managing and mentoring junior developers.
