Advice for Men and Women From a Straight Man Who Was Assigned Female at Birth.
I'm a trans dude. I was assigned female at birth but just as you know you don't need your penis or vagina to know you're a man or woman (if you woke up tomorrow without one you'd still be you), I didn't either. Confused? Yeah, so was I.
I'm happy to talk to you about my story for free - How I wound up in a girl body; What goes on in the womb when that happens; Why I decided to transition physically; How do I know that I'm not a woman...and any other questions you may have no matter how silly or rude they may seem to others.
If you're still interested in continuing to work with me then you will get the experience, perspective and wisdom on women and/or men from a straight man that has lived life as a woman - In their circles and conversations; in their sleepovers and bathrooms; in their intimate spaces and in their heads and hearts - as a woman. But not at all.
This is actually one of the only things I will miss now that I am transitioning physically. It has been an honor to be included into this strong female family and I will forever be grateful. Because of this I was granted the gift to see the strength, power and wisdom of women in a greater perspective and experience than most men ever get to.
It hasn't been an easy life and at times it's been downright emasculating to have been born with this specific endocrine situation. On the other hand, if I could choose I would've chosen to be a woman. For many reasons. Unfortunately in this time in society that is not the case for me.
But ladies and gentlemen! My pain is your gain!
I have learned the minds, talk and ways of the woman with the personality, ego, libito, frustrations and energy of a man. When you aren't understanding where "they" are coming from and vise-versa, I probably DO.
When you get stuck in an awkward position with a friend of the opposite sex and don't really know how to move the relationship forward without it getting weird or crossing boundaries I will TELL YOU THE TRUTH and help you work through it.
The guise of being a female within the intimate circle of womanhood has helped clarify and connect some things for me as a man and within my relationships with other men and women.
I've heard the conversations your girlfriends are having about you. I've identified with your side of it and have learned from theirs.
I've had women show and tell me exactly what they want sexually, romantically and secretly - things that women feel safe to share with other women.
I AM DOING THIS TO HELP BRIDGE THE ILLUSION THAT MEN AND WOMEN ARE SO FUCKING DIFFERENT.
But FIRST we have to acknowledge that we have been raised very differently in this society as men and women; boys and girls; pink and blue. And there are some ancient animal instincts in there too.
Once we recognize and admit those things and how they relate to us as men and women differently, we can then begin the work.
WTF do I know about anything?!
Well some say I've helped them. So here I am.
Ancient civilizations and American Indian tribes were known to have those known as a 'Two-Spirit' within their families. These were people known to have been born with both male and female energies and experiences.
Because of the duality of the Two-Spirits existence they were often sought out for advice, therapy and even medicine - often holding positions of high honor and respect in their communities.
There are ways in which being born female-sexed and appearing as such has made me a better man. Let me share that experience with you.
