I created swipeable SMS friend invitations within an app and required the user to invite 3 friends before progressing. The cost per acquisition was £0.10 and resulted in over 10,000 new users overnight.
Due to an apps limited availability, I created a viral queue so that people could sign up and share the app on social media to get early access when the app launched in their city. The results were staggering! After taking a survey I found that over 60% of people had heard about the app from social media.
