I’m a former Walt Disney Imagineering special effect designer with expertise across a variety of projection and imaging methods (electronic/HD, laser, image mapping, Pepper’s Ghost, vapor, water, holographic illusion). I'm especially active with interactive live stage 3D Stereoscopic applications (live action content, miniature models and computer graphics), along with conventional computer graphics and unique staging techniques.
My career began building laser light show projectors, programming shows, and performing live before laptops and desktops. (I’m a Mac guy) From there I entered the corporate theater industry creating visual effects and illusions with 35mm slides, carousel projectors and motion picture film. Next, Disney Imagineering, where technology brought computers, DLP imaging chips, and moving lights. In 1998 I founded my own design and production firm, EffectDesign, to provide story-based physical and media effects to the corporate, theatrical, and museum industries. Today I’m focused on experiential learning applications – immersive classrooms which emotionally engage learners.
