Affiliate Program Management
Created 8 years ago in Sales & Marketing / Sales & Lead Generation

Affiliate program management refers to the process of generating website traffic and sales through 3rd party websites, blogs, email lists, and other Internet-based properties. These 3rd party "affiliate marketers" have been granted the permission to advertise a company on their website through digital assets or online ads. When the affiliate marketer generates a click that results in a sale, they are paid a pre-established commission amount of percentage of the sales. Affiliate management is the process of working with affiliate marketers to facilitate them to product traffic and sales for the merchant or "advertiser." I have been involved in large, productive affiliate programs over the past 15 years, having personally worked with affiliate marketers myself, as well as oversaw affiliate managers who did. I have been in charge of establishing affiliate recruiting and prospecting campaigns, which are usually part of the strategy to grow the affiliate program. Affiliate newsletters, and personalized messaging, are also used to keep the affiliate marketers "in the know" about the company's promotions and deals, that they turn around and advertise to their audiences to attempt to generate traffic and sales. The affiliate program is grown by adding more affiliate marketers over time, as well as more affiliates becoming product for the company.
