Edwin is the founder of US-based SayCel Technologies, a company focused on innovative communications and environmental sensing solutions for remote regions and forest networks. He is also the founder of SayCel RPW a Fiber ISP located on the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua. He has done a lot of community networking projects around open source cellular networks. He has collaborated with Rhizomatica, a Mexico-based non-profit running twenty-one indigenous community networks; Hunts Point Free Wifi; LibreMesh; Osmocom; many other community networks install in Dominica and Kenya.
His companies were recipients of several awards including NYU's Stern Berkeley Social Venture Award, UNICEF Innovation Fund, National Science Foundations grant, and Mozilla Award.
Formally a Research Scientist at NYU RiskEcon® Lab, he is currently a Cybersecurity adjunct professor a the City University of New York. He is passionate about networks, and educations, and entrepreneurship.
