BRANDING | Conceptualization-to-Realization

What is Branding? What does it do for my business? Is it important for my business? How long does it last? How do I protect it? Can my Brand be used on anything?

These questions and more are readily answered; I will answer some general standards as follows:
1. A Brand is an identifiable mark (word and/or image) that may be used indiscriminately to connect a (good) product/service with its owner and/or authorized user.
2. For your business, a Brand distinguishes you in the marketplace, establishing and conveying reputation.
3. Having a Brand is as important as having a name for most businesses and often a “name” by design or use may also be or become a Brand.
4. Depending upon your use of it, security of it, and creation of it, a Brand’s life is indefinite.
5. In a Global Marketplace it is almost impossible to protect your Brand unless/until it reaches irrefutable recognizable volume – which generally takes massive clout, extensive diligence, and more; however, in the United States, with proper protection via “Copyright (©), Trade Mark (™) and/or Registered Trade Mark (®) via the USPTO, those challenges are less expensive and you are well on your way to establishing your brand in the Global Industry.

Branding is an oxymoron in that it is highly complex, subjective, and may be fraught with unforeseen challenges; however, with the right guidance and an excellent designer, Branding can be made quite simple and fun!
