Yes, Doug knows web marketing, including social media, blogging, email, and web strategy. Yes, Doug is technical and can build websites and web applications. However, my recommendation for Doug is because in addition to all that, I respect that he has built a business - and a following - by integrity, hard work, good solutions and a desire to help others succeed without much regard to what was in it for him. He has supported the community in countless ways, such as Indy's successful SuperBowl bid, communication and support for the victims of the explosions in Greenwood, the Smaller Indiana online community, his support of Navy vets, just to name a few, And, many of the high profile companies and individuals in the Indianapolis tech community owe a lot of where they are today to Doug's strategic thinking and technical expertise...whether they admit it or not.

Why?
Because when Doug Karr blogs, people read! He has earned his reputation as an early social networking success because his timely and insightful posts help others, like me, succeed.
As I transition from the hard copy print world to social marketing, I regard Doug a valuable resource.
Source: LinkedIn Mike Magan Jan 12, 2014I honestly can't say enough good things about Doug. I'll start here:
Doug is a role model for me in the social media world. I know that if Doug is doing it, it's got to be good. I tend to follow (stalk) him online to help keep myself abreast the latest and greatest things on the web.
Doug is a unique individual. He has an amazing entrepreneurial spirit, is extremely social, is very encouraging and helpful, is THE expert when it comes to anything social media related, and I recently found out how great a programmer he is.
Squish needed a small application programmed utilizing Twitter. Because I know that Doug knows the in's and out's of many applications, I knew that he would have the answer. He provided the exact solution that we were looking for in an extremely efficient time frame, at a very reasonable rate, and was happy to help us out.
Working with a person like this is critical for a small business, and I look very forward to any other work that we can pass Doug's way.

It was apparent very early on that Doug was a great addition to the Patronpath team and his knowledge and enthusiasm for internet marketing was infectious. It was clear that his work there was a big part of Patronpath's growth and success during his time there.
Source: LinkedIn Ryan Mull Jan 12, 2014If you are considering social media, blogging, or any other form of digital marketing, Doug Karr is one of the most knowledgable people in the industry. His expertise ranges across multiple diciplines and his positive, can-do attitude is contagious!
Source: LinkedIn Daren Tomey Jan 12, 2014My experience of having Doug as a direct report was truly a pleasure. Doug was an exceptional employee, one any manager would be happy to have. He was always pushing the envelope on how we could use technology to develop marketing solutions for The Star and our advertisers. Doug is an innovator. Frequently I would say, "wouldn't it be cool if we could do this (some out of the box database related idea)?" Doug would always figure out how to do it. He would either find the right external solution or - as often as not - he would build it himself. Many of his innovations served as models for our entire company and in some cases our industry. He's an idea man who pushes himself and others to think outside the box. I am not surprised to see how Doug has thrived over the last few years. I would hire him again in a minute!
Source: LinkedIn Brian Priester Jan 12, 2014Doug's among a very rare breed of men who is first of all the nicest guy you'll ever meet, AND also an expert when it comes to Web 2.0 marketing and technology. It may sound cliche, but he leaves, eats and breaths the stuff so he's my number one resource for just about anything I want to do online these days. He's an accomplished blogger and he's one of those guys that deserves to be rich and famous some day, but doesn't really care too much about money. Thanks goodness or I couldn't afford him.
Source: LinkedIn Pat Coyle Jan 12, 2014I cannot think of anyone better suited to this position than Mr. Karr. If you were to define a job solely based on his experience and talents, this would be it.
