I have been practicing (orthopedic) physical therapy for nearly 19 years. My initial foray into private practice was in 2001, as I was involved in its inception and formation. In addition to investing a percentage of initial/starting capital, I assisted in the following:

1) creation of an subchapter S corporation along with various other steps to establish corporate status with the IRS and Secretary of State (of California)
2) research and purchase equipment, supplies
3) search for a suitable office space location and subsequent negotiation of lease
4) establishing provider contracts with various health insurance companies
5) managing payroll for staff
6) weekly marketing physical therapy services to physicians in the immediate/surrounding areas.

in 2006, I launched yet another Subchapter S-corporation featuring only myself, which I continue to do so today, treating patients and running the business. With the endless continuing changes in healthcare, it is paramount that if you want to start your own practice, I can work with you step by step to assist and guide you from the beginning of your journey and beyond.
