I can bring in many years of experience of driving and managing drivers for my own trucking company. I can see the whole picture where many “safety” personnel have only seen safety from the classroom. They cannot relate to drivers like I can.
EXPERIENCE
JANUARY 8, 2019 – PRESENT
BUSINESS SERVICES MANAGER, OWNER OPERATOR INDEPENDENT DRIVERS ASSOCATION
I currently manager a group of 37 individuals who work in Compliance, a Permits and Licensing Department, and a DOT certified Drug and Alcohol Testing Consortium. Since I have been manager, we have hit and surpassed record business in P&L and our Drug Consortium every month since. And I still have all the duties that are described below.
OCTOBER 16, 2017, TO JANAUARY 8, 2019
ASSISTANT MANAGER, OWNER OPERATOR INDEPENDENT DRIVERS ASSOCATION
I managed the department during the managers absence and supervised the Compliance Department. I was responsible for the time sheets, and vacation requests for the three departments. I also directed the Compliance Department to assist our membership to help 100 to 500 calls a day of issues pertaining to the trucking industry.
JULY 10, 2006, TO OCTOBER 16, 2017
COMPLIANCE AGENT, OWNER OPERATOR INDEPENDENT DRIVERS ASSOCATION
I would take from 12 to 25 calls per day answering questions and assisting members with all kinds of questions. These would range from leasing regulations to violations they received while on the road. We would assist in Data Q Challenges to contacting carriers and brokers to make sure our members were getting a fair shake. This also included a couple of trips to Washington DC to speak directly to Transportation Staffer in the Senate and the House. During this time, I directed 15 members in a successful lawsuit against a motor carrier that was scamming the owner operators. My duties also included being interviewed for a trucking publication and for a taped segment and a live radio program that was broadcasted on Sirius XM Radio. I also help start a new program assisting members when especially starting out as a new carrier to assist and maintain their driver files, and equipment maintenance files. This has proved out very successful in keeping our small motor carrier’s complaint in DOT audits. I also have direct contact with our lobbyists in Washington DC. I was always answering questions on how possible legislation would affect our membership. I also had a direct role in assisting in writing language for a bill that passed to assist our veterans in getting their DOT medical certificates.
JANUARY 1, 1974, TO JULY 10, 2006
TRUCK DRIVER AND FARMER, SELF EMPLOYED
I farmed up to 1200 acres row crop and fed up with 4000 head of hogs per year in 5 states at one time. The trucking side I had up to 6 trucks and drivers performing local and over the road freight.

SKILLS
• Being a truck driver myself, I can relate better to other drivers than anyone else.
• I am very familiar with the FMCSRs and State regulations • Over the years I have developed many law enforcements contacts on the Federal and State levels
• With my mechanical background, I understand the complexity of trucking equipment better than most people.
ACTIVITIES
My wife and I love to travel, whether it is in the US or abroad. I love to go to my farm and tinker with equipment. From mowing grass to building a pond, that is such a “quiet” place for me to unwind.
